Happenings at The Mills:

Spring is here!  The flowers are blooming, grass is being cut and the days are getting longer.  We still have plenty of rain and allergies are flaring up as well.  Tis the season for sneezing into the daffodils.

Spring conferences went well, thank you for supporting our Jaguars in their education. It takes all of us to grow such lovely young people.  

Literacy Week was a huge success!!  Students dressed up for Spirit Week, Book Bingo was a ton of fun, the Book Fair made a profit for the school, and Literacy Night was very well attended.  Thank you everyone for coming and enjoying the activities, sharing the joy of reading with your children.  

Upcoming at The Mills:

This spring is full of activities and events, as well as State testing.  We will be starting with testing late in April.  All students grades 3-8 take the Math and English test and grades 5 and 8 take Science as well.  Make sure students are well rested and eat a good breakfast.  

Character trait:

Character Trait for April is Integrity.  We talk about integrity as doing the right thing even when no one is watching.  We make decision we are proud of for ourselves, not just to get a prize or avoid trouble.  

Sports:

The Middle School track meet is coming up and students will be getting ready for participation in that district wide event.  

The Jog-a-thon will be happening on April 22, with the younger grades and older grades running separately, cheering each other on! Please see the Parent Square announcements for getting pledges.  We are raising money for sports, PE and playground equipment.  

Also, the spring Walk and Roll will be May 6th, at 8:00am. Please meet at the Scotts Mills Fire Station with your bikes, scooters, skates, walking shoes, etc.

While we don’t have spring sports teams here at The Mills, we are enjoying the sunshine!

From The PTCC:

Next Parent Teacher Community Club meeting is 3:15 pm on Tuesday April 14th.  Love to see you there!  

Our school's biggest fundraiser, our school auction,  will be held at the end of April. If you or someone you know would like to donate an item, gift card, or basket, or would like to be a sponsor, please email our PTCC at scottsmillsparentclub@gmail.com.
