Welcome Kathy Beyer, New Principal of Silverton Middle School

Silver Falls School District is pleased to announce that Kathy Beyer has been selected as the new Principal of Silverton Middle School, effective immediately.

Kathy was selected following a rigorous hiring process that included a strong pool of highly qualified candidates. Throughout the process, her extensive educational experience, commitment to student success, and relationship-centered leadership style stood out to the interview team.

Kathy's story begins in a small agricultural community along the Mississippi River in Minnesota, where she grew up surrounded by many of the same values that are important throughout the Silver Falls community—hard work, strong relationships, and a deep sense of community. That rural upbringing helped shape her approach to leadership and education and gives her a unique appreciation for the communities that make up Silver Falls School District.

After earning her bachelor's degree from the University of Portland, Kathy began her career in McMinnville School District as an English teacher, running coach, and adviser to student publications, including the student newspaper, yearbook, and television program. She later earned her master's degree from Linfield University and her administrator license from George Fox University. Most recently, Kathy served in administrative roles with Lincoln County School District, including Assistant Principal positions at both Toledo Jr./Sr. High School and Newport High School.

Kathy shared:

"I am honored to join the Silver Falls School District community and look forward to championing opportunities for students and preparing them for their future. I'm excited to be the principal of Silverton Middle School and build relationships with students and staff. Go Falcons!"

Outside of school, Kathy and her husband have been married for 35 years and are proud parents of three adult children pursuing careers as a psychologist, marine biologist, and Air Force pilot. She also enjoys photography and capturing family adventures.

We would also like to thank Brett Davisson for his years of dedicated service to Silverton Middle School and wish him the very best as he begins the next chapter of his career.
