Welcome to our new families and welcome back to those returning for another wonderful year at Scotts Mills School!  I am excited to return as your principal supporting students, educators and families as we learn together.  Last year we worked to build our community, advance our academic rigor and develop pride in ourselves and our school.  This year, we continue that work with academic, social, emotional and community growth.  


Enrollment:

All students need a complete registration including verification registrations for those returning. Registrations can be completed online. Please do so as soon as possible.

School Start/End Time: 

  • School begins at 8:30am. The office and main gate open at 8:00 for morning recess/breakfast. If you arrive early, please remain with your student until the doors open. This is an important time for teachers and staff to prepare for the day and are unavailable to supervise students until 8:00am.

To manage parking lot traffic, please wait to drive through until after the buses leave

  • School ends at 3:00pm.  All students should be picked up by 3:15 pm. 


Bus Routes: 

Bus routes are being finalized and will be posted to the district website prior to the first day of school.


Class Lists and Supplies:

Class lists are working on being finalized with any last minute changes or new students.  We will post those lists no later than Back to School Night, August 27th.  Supply lists have been posted, on the front office windows, Facebook, Parent Square and the school website


All families should plan on providing the following items for their student(s): 

  • Backpack 

  • Lunch Box (if student eats home lunch) 

  • Refillable Water Bottle 

  • PE Shoes 

  • Jacket for recess

Please let us know if your family needs assistance with any of the required supplies. 


School Meals:

Breakfast and lunch are free for all students again this year.  Mrs. Alice will have a healthy breakfast and lunch available daily.  Breakfast will start at 8:05.  If you have specific dietary needs or questions please reach out. 


Medication:

Please follow our school policies concerning medication at school.  All medication must be signed into the front office by a guardian. This includes prescription medication, over the counter medicine, cough drops, inhalers, etc. Prescription medications need to arrive in an original container that has the patient’s name, medication name, and dosage clearly visible on the label. All over-the-counter medications need to be in their container with clear labeling. Please contact the office if you have questions.
